In order to introduce pollution-cutting measures, France is instituting a new scheme to promote cycling. The $22 million scheme intends to cover bike repairs for individuals, to encourage people to cycle for short distances rather than driving or taking public transport. Authorities hope that the new measures will help promote safety, and reduction of air pollution.
