The start of the pandemic saw massive increases in sales at grocery stores. Moreover, other trends have been observed such a shift to more complex cooking - as illustrated by a 600 percent increase in sales of yeast. Individuals have also been visiting grocery stores less frequently as to avoid large crowds, and have been thus shopping each time with more purpose. Online shopping, frozen foods, and "local" food suppliers have also seen a massive increase. Importantly, behavioral scientists suspect that many of these trends are here to stay as people have adapted to new habits.
