Johns Hopkins Produces Map By Race

Johns Hopkins has released a Racial Data Transparency Map containing data on cases, testing and deaths in regards to racial groups across the United States. With the pandemic serving to help expose exacerbated disparities in regards to race and class, illustrating such information can serve to inform policy-makers. Particularly, African American communities have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic, following trends in health disparities that have been present for decades and centuries. It is key to examine health from a socio-ecological lens which considers the social and cultural determinants which define health.
