Xenophobia against Asian Americans

Updated: Apr 3, 2020

Xenophobic acts and attitudes towards Asian Americans have called for Asian American legislators to take action.

In a letter addressed to the U.S. Congress, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus explained the need for productive and accurate dissemination of information in order to reduce paranoia-based ignorance in beliefs towards Asian Americans.

Attacks against Asian American have drawn attention and concerns across the country over the past few weeks. From racially-based accusations founded on ignorant and unfounded scientific belief, to physical and violent attacks - Asian Americans have been the victims of xenophobic attitudes.

With many Asian Americans currently living in fear, it is crucial that actions be taken to reduce and disseminate the spread of false information by influential public figures.
