While coronavirus antibodies are proving to not be as effective as previously thought, a new form of potential immunity comes from the enigmatic T cell. The T cell’s role in infection and immunity helps to explain certain mysteries about the virus, like its increased ability to harm older individuals, and the damage done to the spleen in the event of an infection.
